HUN-REN ATK Martonvásár
The HUN-REN Agricultural Science Research Centre is one of Hungary’s leading institutions in the field of agricultural and environmental sciences. Its three institutes – the Institute of Agricultural Research, the Plant Protection Institute, and the Soil Science Institute – are at the forefront of both basic and applied research.
The Centre operates with state-of-the-art equipment, including one of Central Europe’s largest phenotyping platforms, as well as unique volatile compound analysis and Single-Cell Recording systems. Its digital, high-resolution map databases are indispensable tools in soil and environmental research.
Its innovations are widely applied in practice: cereal seeds and maize hybrids marked with “Mv” are well-known and widely used; the Csalomon trap family, consisting of over 200 types, provides reliable support for plant protection forecasting – not only for farmers but also for hobby gardeners. Additionally, the ProPlanta Advisory System offers up-to-date information to support sustainable farming.
The HUN-REN ATK is not only a scientific hub but also a trusted innovation partner of Hungarian agriculture. Its mission: healthy environment, healthy food.
Controlled Environment Plant Phenotyping (CePPG)
CePPG focuses on the assessment of plant performance traits expressed under well-defined, experimental conditions simulating diverse present and future climate scenarios and aims to bring together researchers, who run plant phenotyping facilities (platforms) in controlled environments that are able to simulate different climatic conditions, with scientists from other related fields.
