The EMPHASIS project aims at the establishment of pan European plant phenotyping infrastructure embedded in a sound legal basis (http://emphasis.plant-phenotyping.eu/). Within the preparatory phase of EMPHASIS, which is the EU funded project EMPHASIS-PREP, the project consortium will develop the basis for future long-term sustainable operation of EMPHASIS based on user demand. The EMPHASIS-PREP consortium has specifically engaged the plant phenotyping community in Europe by regional conferences in Portugal (March 29, 2017), Austria (April 21, 2017), Gothenburg (July 2017) and Tartu (November 22-24, 2017) to map the plant phenotyping activities in European countries. The mapping focused on the identification of the available infrastructure, the demands and requirements of the users from academia and industry. Within the framework of these regional conferences the EMPHASIS –PREP consortium has collected a suit of information about plant phenotyping activities in different countries in Europe. The short description of different countries representing the phenotyping landscape in Europe is on the website and will be continuously updated.
